1. Not only stand in front of a blue or green screen 5 nights a week, in front of thousands of viewers... you learn in-depth about how the atmosphere works. There is a lot of Physics that goes with Meteorology, and of course Math (such as Calculus -2 years-, Geometry, and Trigonometry). The careers you can have is work for private companies, of course TV stations, and the National Weather Service.
2. There are so many things to do with a meteorology degree. You could be on television, work for a private company, be an aviation meteorologist, be a meteorologist for any sort of company such as UPS, Fedex, energy companies, etc. You could work for the armed forces, the Navy always has job postings for meteorologists. You could get into research or forecasting, you could work in operations, dealing with data. There is so many options for a meteorologist!
