Should I really go into meteorology?

Since the age of 5 I have wanted to be a meteorologist, but now I'm a junior in high school and realize how difficult it may be to get a job as a meteorologist. Should I go into this or look for another major? I don't necessarily want to go into broadcast meteorology, but I don't want to do research so much. What should I do? What are my options?

1. It's one of the only jobs I know of where you can be wrong all the time and not get fired.
2. If you are passionate about the weather. Go for it! Most people have to get jobs to pay the bills but they are not passionate about the work they do. Can you imagine life without job satisfaction? Would you like to get up each morning and be excited to go to work? It may be a challenge, but it would be worth every bit of it.
3. If it is something that you really love, and have a true desire to do , than you should do it!!! Do what you love, love what you do.
