Career In Meteorology

ive heard its really hard to get a job in meteorology in the military..?

is it true? which branch is the best to join for that, or the best branch choice to get that job?

1. its not hard to be in meteorology in the army, you just have to have a gt score of 110 or higher. alot of the time you work with the weather balloon stuff.
2. Kandi, there are not a *lot* of meteologists in the military. By far the Navy and Air Force have the most. After you've taken the ASVAB, if you make it, simply wait for them to have an opening BEFORE you sign the contract and be sure to get it in your contract. If you get a score that almost qualifies, wait 6 months, study and take it again. Then wait until they have the opening. If you aren't close to a qualifying score you may wish to choose a different MOS or not join. If meteorology is your passion, go for it. Hold out on the recruiter until he gets it for you.
3. Officer or enlisted? I have a friend who left Aviation and became a METOC officer in the Navy rather easily, and in fact METOC is severely undermanned at the Officer levels in the Navy. Of course, that requires a 4 year degree...
