Career In Meteorology

How do I start my career with acting or meteorology?

These two things really interest me but I understand how hard it is to become a sucessful actress/actor and I just don't know much about starting a career in meteorolgy!

  1. So, let me get this straight, either acting or meteorology? Does this mean that your true goal is simply to be a television personality? Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just important to understand your true motivation when starting a career. Acting and Meteorology are as different as night and day. One is an artistic pursuit, one is a hard science pursuit. Which turns you on? You can't say both, cause I know pleny of actors, and I was at a college that offered a degree in meteorology, so I've met plenty of them too. And they couldn't be more different from each other! Meteorologists are science dweebs, even the good looking ones you see on tv. Hard core science dweebs, the kind that get aroused by a thunderstorm cause of the physics of it all. Sound like you? Actors are, well, some of the most self-absorbed people on the planet. And I am in the music business, so I know self-absorbed! Even the great ones, they are a strange lot. I'd hardly call them smart, generally speaking, as opposed to all the meteorologists that I knew. Don't spam me, I'm sure all of your favorite actors are also brain surgeons and brilliant. There ARE exceptions. But most of them are dim bulbs. So, which are you? If you are neither, but just think a career on tv would be awesome, consider a communications degree and an internship at your local radio/tv station. Start early, right now. Volunteer at your local public stations, do anything you can to get airtime and experience behind the scenes. Good luck, no matter what you choose.
