- For a detail understanding of weather go to http://www.srh.noaa.gov/jetstream/matrix.htm For aviation weather specific questions go to www.faa.gov => search for "AC 0045F" or www.google.com => search for "Aviation weather services" or "AC 0045F" both of them are paid by tax payer.. enjoy also go to Google search for "Jeppesen Weather" then go to "Jeppesen.com - Making Every Mission Possible" middle right hand side there is a line name "Weather Help" down load and study it. symbols and its meaning. with all that the exam should be easy for U oh. METAR, TAF, PIREP weather charts are all must know
- I would recommend Trevor Thom PPL manuals (Aviation Law and Meterology), this does depend on whether you are obtaining a JAR PPL. I'm surprised that the flying school didn't provide you or advice regarding the ground reading material, most flying schools including the one I used for my PPL included it with the cost. Websites won't provide you with any help, you really do need to consider buying manuals or a study pack that are specifically written to help you alongside your PPL flying and ground school study, usually 6 manuals in total. Ebay is a good start: http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37.l1313&satitle=trevor+thom Or http://www.transair.co.uk/
