Career In Meteorology

Is this too much for my first year in college?

I start college in a month. I've signed up for 5 classes which equals 15 credit hours at the community college. I'm trying to earn my degree as quickly as possible so I can start my career in meteorology soon plus in a few years tuition and textbooks may cost more due to inflation or however the economy worsens (if it does). Some of my friends think I am doing a course overload, what's your opinion? I'm also planning to get a ob on campus part time.

  1. 15 credits at a community college is nothing. Certainly not a course overload unless you're a slacker.
  2. Five classes is more than you need to be a full-time student, and more than most students will be taking. Since it's your first semester, you might want to consider dropping one course in the first week or two - go for a week or so, figure out how much you can handle, and think about dropping one. Many students are overwhelmed by the workload; better to start out slower and do well in all your classes than have your grades suffer by taking on too much.
  3. The best grades I ever got was one quarter when I took 24 hours. Granted, I had absolutely no free time.
