Career In Meteorology

Can geology and meteorology be pursued or studied simultaneously?

I want to make a career out of research on the earth and atmosphere.. But i found out earth science has two different branches namely geology and meteorology.. Gimme guidelines.

1. Earth sciences have may more branches than that. Take an introductory oceanography class. That will expose you to a number of earth sciences, including geology and meteorology, and perhaps help you narrow down your area of interest. If you want to know about the earth and the atmosphere, you MUST understand the ocean's role.
2. I'm a geology major and have a lot of friends who are majoring in geology with a minor in atmospheric sciences. I would imagine that any major university offers the same sort of program. Just give whatever school you are interested in a call. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to let you know more.
