Career In Meteorology

Should I take AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics at the same time?

I'm going to be a senior soon. I'm taking Pre-Calculus right now, and I'm doing rather well. I even got an A+ this quarter. I am also taking AP US History and AP Biology. I've decided to take it easy senior year and take all normal classes except AP Economics (half-year), my math class (which I'm good at), and my electives (Meteorology, Forensics, Career & Financial Management, etc.). I originally decided to just take AP Statistics, because I heard it was easier than AP Calculus. I realized today that I'm really good at Pre-Calculus. I don't want to let my studies to got to waste, and I want to prepare for college. Also, my favorite teacher is teaching AP Calculus, and I plan to major in Applied Mathematics.

  1. It's not a bad idea to take both at the same time. I'm a college freshman currently and I did the same exact thing last year for my senior year in high school. I took AP Calc. and AP Stats. I also had 3 other AP classes the same year. I was able to get a B the whole year in Stats. For calculus, I was able to get a B in my fall semester and then an A for the spring semester. It is possible to take both classes at the same time and succeed. You just have to be willing to put the time and effort into the classes. I personally enjoyed Statistics a whole lot more than Calculus. From what you wrote, it wouldn't be hard for you to do well in both classes.
