Career In Meteorology

AP Classes- what do you think about this lineup?

Okay, I am currently a junior heading into this year, and I have chosen my classes. 3 of them being AP and 1 honors. I have been consistently warned about the toughness of the AP courses and how I can be burned out before the midterm exams. What do you think about this lineup for this year: AP English Language & Comp AP Statistics AP Physics B Honors American History Television Production 3&4 (same class, just 2 seperate periods) *in TV Prod, we do ABSOLUTELY nothing most of the time. Just something extra, my future career is Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma (hoping to go there). Can this year help me get accepted for when I apply? i forgot to mention, I have already taken Physics Honors, Pre-calculus Honors, and 2 straight English Honors classes. Passed all of them easily except for precalc, which I ended with a C in. Im very good at math, and this is the first year that i have had trouble with it.

  1. I just finished the whole college application process and I learned a great deal about APs. In fact the difficulty of the classes you take is often more important than your SAT scores. One thing I encourage you to do is look on the OU website to find out if that college excepts scores from those subject areas.
  2. On one hand, that seems a bit much, but on the other hand, your junior year is always hell. I would say if you can switch one or two of these classes, maybe AP Stats (which I believe might be a semester class?) to your senior year, you could have a more balanced, less overwhelming schedule. Sometimes it's better to spread your intense classes over two years, instead of piling them all on at once, because it hampers your ability to succeed in each class.
