Career In Meteorology

WTF? GPA Averages for Colleges too high?

I was reading some stuff, and I saw that the average GPA. for incoming freshman at a lot of Universities was like 3.7. WTF?!?! My GPA. is like .5 lower than that! Are they exaggerated, or am I just not up to par with other students. I really want to pursue a career in Meteorology... but....

  1. Depends which college. I was turned down from 5 colleges and accepted by 9, and I have a 4.43.
  2. lol, 3.7? wow looks like some people are good at cheating or their schools are crap. 3.2 you should be fine. btw my GPA is 3.8 and i'm a freshmen in WVU. Good luck to yah! ; ).
  3. Are those GPA's weighted or unweighted? And is yours unweighted? And just because that's the average doesn't mean there isn't room for the people on the lower end of the curve. Don't let that keep you from applying to schools that have what you want, espcially if you have good SAT/ACT scores and extracurriculars.
  4. 85% statistics are made up and only 50% of those are believeable
  5. Depends on what school you want to goto first off. They do look at other things though: -SAT / ACT results -GPA -Extra Circular Activites -Clubs (Its not how many, but what postion: Presidency) -Class rigior (how challenging your classes were)
  6. Of course it depends upon the school./
