Career In Meteorology

Medical career advice would be appreciated, please?

After three years at a state college with a few different majors that ended up disgusting me, I left the university to explore other options and applied to a two year on-site hospital radiologic technology program. After having nearly one year under my belt I've decided that, definitively, this is the path I want to take with my career. I would like to continue on in the medical field; ultimately, I would love to go on to medical school after I would finish up my four years at a university. I've maintained a 4.0 at my radiologic technology program within the hospital; however, my grades earned previously during my stint at the state school were somewhat unsatisfactory. I'd say after about two years of study there, I'd earned about a 3.0 cumulative GPA. My poor grades were within my aforementioned despised previous majors (criminal justice and meteorology). I am generally quite intelligent and am absolutely certain that any classes I would take now at a university as part of a pre-med course schedule I would receive outstanding marks. My question is, have my moderately low grades in previous majors already prevented me from attending any sort of M.D. or D.O. program, even with great scores in pre-med subjects and (what I believe could be achieved) competitive scores on the MCAT? If so, are there any other options I could possibly consider? ANY advice from anyone with experience in this matter would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

  1. No, they have not. If you have two more years left you could feasibly have a 3.5. Also, DO schools have grade replacement policies, so you could take a few of the classes that hurt your grade most over again, if you felt that they were holding you back. Science GPA and pre-med pre-req classes GPA will be more important.
