Career In Meteorology

READ THIS Here is my career? P.S- How much would I get paid at the Weather Channel or CNN as a meteorologist?

I am 13.5 years old. I want to become a meteorologist when i grow up. Here is my career I want to go to Cornell University to get a Masters Degree in Meteorology. Then I am going to be an OCM at the Weather Channel for at least 10 years. During that time I am going to cover hurricanes/blizzards for the network. Then I am going to CNN as a Worldwide Meterologist. I want to earn an Emmy Award and contain an AMS Seal of Approval and be an CBM(Certified Brodcast Meteorologist).

1. Sounds like you've got some really great goals and ambitions there. As for what the Weather channel or CNN pays there meterologists I have no clue but I will tell you that meterologist can make anywhere from 32,000.00 to 73,000.00+ a yr. Have you tried contacting your local channel and see if they can use a gopher around the studio? This is a great way to get some experience and learn the ins and outs of the bradcasting business. My son (same age as you btw) is wanting to be a meteorologist as well and was offered this opportunity.
