Career In Meteorology

Meteorology- What do I need to start with in community college, to get into a program at a university?

My community college doesn't offer a degree in Atmospheric science, or meteorology. I'm current set as an Associates of Science Major. Anyone with some experience have any ideas? I'm taking a TON of math courses as I know I'll need those. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  1. The best thing to do is get all core requirements done at the community college then find extras that will transfer to a college that is appealing to you.
  2. Do what you like.
  3. Why are you at community college if you want to study meteorology? My advice would be to apply to a university for start of 2010 / 2011 school year and not waste your waste on community college. In the mean time continue with what you are doing and ensure that you have solid grades (nothing less than a 'C' with primarily 'A's & 'B's)
  4. Continue to take math and basic courses at your community college. Think about going to the college you wish to attend in the future and seeing what courses will transfer when you transfer there. Most of the core meteorology courses will be taken after you transfer to a school that offers that degree.
