Meteorology degree increase chances of waiver in Air Force?

I'm applying to OTS, and I have a medical condition that I'm not sure how many waivers are granted (if any). Although I hear the AF is cutting down on people, I also have read that *exceptionally qualified* individuals may be more strongly considered for waivers. I have a Meterology degree, and I now the Air Force is always looking for that. Will having a Meteorology degree make me stand out and increase my chances of getting a waiver?

  1. Its a good chance, but they just cut like 8 weather officers. Depends on the health condition. The weather career is stressful not physical.
  2. Hell no.....if you have a medical condition they won't take you and don't expect the recruiter to help you out much. He has healthy young men and women to enlist. He would rather be playing golf than chasing down medical documents for your medical condition.
  3. It really isn't up to the AF when it comes to medical waivers. The doc at MEPS will let you know if you get one or not. However, if you get an OK from a civilian doctor sometimes the MEPS Doc will give you a waiver.
