Is Atmospheric Sciences and meteorology the same?

hi, i wanted to take meteorology in college. and i was looking at UW milwaukee and they have atmospheric Sciences is that the same as meteorology or completly different?

1. Meteorology is part of Atmospheric science, but atm. sci. might also include things like atmospheric chemistry, climatology, and other issues that aren't strictly weather-related. I'm sure that the atmospheric science department has many courses related to meteorology, but you may be able to find an online listing of courses offered.
